Privacy policy

Effective 1 November 2026

This policy explains what personal information Footy Coach 101 collects through footycoach101.com.au, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access, correct or ask us to delete it. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and to send marketing email only in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Footy Coach 101 is a small Australian business run by Jesse Maclean, a Queensland rugby league coach. We make rugby league session plans and coaching resources for coaches, clubs and schools.

Footy Coach 101 is operated by Digital FC Pty Ltd, ABN 21 690 685 726.

For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact us at:

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Footy Coach 101, and "you" means anyone who uses our website or gives us their details.

2. What we collect and how we collect it

We only collect what we need. Most of it you give us directly through forms on our website.

Free session plan form. Your email address and the age group you coach (for example "Under 9 to 12"). We do not ask for your name or for any player's name.

Package enquiry form. Your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, your club or school, the package you are interested in, and any message you write to us.

Event registration forms. When we run a clinic or event, the registration form asks for your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and an age group. Each event can also have extra questions we set for that event (for example a player's name, date of birth, emergency contact or other details we need to run the event safely). We only ask for what we need to run that event. If an event has a waiver, refund policy or information pack, we record which documents you ticked to agree to and when. For paid events, we also record the order (amount, event, payment status and when it was paid).

Payments. Event payments are handled by Stripe on a secure Stripe page. You enter your card details with Stripe, not with us, and we never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us whether the payment succeeded and gives us a reference for it.

Referral links. Some partners share a link to our site (footycoach101.com.au/r/...). When someone uses one of these links, we record that a click happened on that partner's link, the browser type, and a scrambled one-way code made from the visitor's IP address. We do not store the IP address itself. If you then send one of our forms, we note which partner referred you. This is only so we know which partners send people our way.

Emails we send. We keep a log of every email our website sends (who it went to, the subject, and whether it was delivered to our email provider), so we can check that emails actually go out.

Website basics. Like almost every website, our hosting provider receives technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the website and keep it secure. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook or Meta pixels, or any other advertising or tracking tools on this website.

Our own administration. People we authorise to manage the website sign in with their email address and a one-time code. We keep the list of those email addresses.

Information from other people. Sometimes a coach, club official or parent sends us details on behalf of someone else (for example registering a player for an event). If you give us someone else's details, please make sure they know you are doing so and point them to this policy.

You do not have to give us your details, but if you do not, we may not be able to send you the session plan, answer your enquiry or register you for an event. You can browse the website without giving us anything.

3. Why we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • send you the free session plan for your age group, which we email to you straight after you ask for it;
  • reply to your enquiry and talk with you about our packages;
  • run events: confirm your registration, take payment, keep a record of agreed waivers and policies, and contact you about the event;
  • send you coaching tips and offers, where you have agreed to receive them (see section 4);
  • understand which partners and referral links bring people to us;
  • keep records we need for our business, tax and legal obligations;
  • keep our website and admin secure.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for any purpose you would not reasonably expect, unless you agree or the law allows or requires it.

4. Marketing emails and unsubscribing

When you ask for a free session plan, the form says: "By sending, you agree to get the free session plus occasional coaching tips and offers from Footy Coach 101. Unsubscribe any time." By sending the form, you consent to receive those emails.

Every marketing email we send will:

  • clearly identify Footy Coach 101 as the sender, with our contact details; and
  • include a simple way to unsubscribe.

You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing info@footycoach101.com.au. We will stop sending you marketing emails within 5 working days. Unsubscribing does not stop emails you need for something you have asked for, such as an event registration confirmation.

If you only sent us an enquiry or registered for an event, we will not add you to our marketing emails unless you ask us to or agree to it.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Our public website uses one cookie, and our admin and setup pages use a few more. None of them are used for advertising or to track you across other websites.

fc101_refSet only if you arrive through a partner's referral link. Remembers which partner sent you, so they get credit if you send a form.30 days

fc101_setupUsed only on the private page where our business signs up with our web provider. Not set for ordinary visitors.30 days

Our website also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address and browser details when you visit.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work; a referral just may not be credited.

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and business, and only so they can provide that service to us. Some of them store or process information outside Australia.

When someone sends the free session form or an enquiry, a copy of their name, email and phone (where given) is sent to aend's reporting system so aend can count the enquiries the website generates for us. aend also has technical access to the website and database to maintain it.Australia

When we send information to a provider outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to choose reputable providers with strong security and privacy commitments. By giving us your information, you acknowledge that it may be stored or processed in the countries listed above, where privacy laws may differ from Australia's.

We may also share information:

  • with partners who referred you, but only to the extent of telling them how many enquiries or registrations their referrals led to, never your details;
  • with professional advisers such as our accountant or lawyer;
  • where the law requires or allows it, for example to a court, regulator or police.

7. Children and junior players

Our coaching content is for junior rugby league, but our website is for adults: coaches, club officials, teachers and parents. Our free session and enquiry forms ask for the coach's age group, not any child's name or details.

Event registrations may involve children. A parent, guardian or coach should complete the registration, and if an event form asks for a player's details, only the details we need to run the event safely are collected. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18 without a parent or guardian's involvement. If you think a child has given us their details without that, please contact us and we will delete them.

If an event form asks for health information (such as allergies, medical conditions or injuries), we collect it only with consent, use it only to keep players safe at that event, and limit who can see it. Our forms do not ask for health information today; if a future event needs it, we will update this policy first.

8. Storage and security

Your information is stored with the providers listed in section 6. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including:

  • the website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS);
  • the admin area is limited to people we authorise, who sign in with a one-time code sent to their email;
  • sign-in codes and passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form;
  • referral link visitors' IP addresses are not stored, only a scrambled one-way code;
  • card details are handled by Stripe and never stored by us.

No system is perfectly secure. If we have a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will act quickly to contain it and will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where the law requires it.

9. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, or as long as the law requires.

  • Free session and enquiry details: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, or 18 months after our last contact, whichever comes first. If you unsubscribe, we may keep your email address on a "do not contact" list so we do not email you again by mistake.
  • Event registrations, agreed waivers and orders: as long as we need them for tax, insurance and legal records, generally up to 7 years after the event.
  • Email send logs and referral click records: up to 2 years.

When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

10. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing info@footycoach101.com.au. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you for making a request. If we refuse a request (for example because the law requires us to keep a record), we will tell you why in writing and how you can complain.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first at info@footycoach101.com.au and tell us what happened. We will acknowledge your complaint within 7 days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add a new service or the law changes. The current version will always be on our website with its effective date at the top. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will tell people on our email list.
